Workstation's will receive updates according to the following schedule.

Driver and Dell Application Updates:

1st of each calendar month – 4:00am

Microsoft Windows Updates:

These updates are release by Microsoft on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Updates are installed to various deployment rings as defined below. The purpose of this is to allow a staggered rollout for testing and bug detection.

Pilot Ring: I.T. Department Workstations - Updates installed same day as public release. Cannot defer restart.

Fast Ring: Police Department Workstations - Receives updates 5 days after public release. Can defer restart for 2 days after install.

Slow Ring: All Other Workstations - Receives updates 10 days after public release. Can defer restart for 3 days after install.

Deferral of installed will prompt the user with the below options.

• Restart Now

• Pick a Time (schedule the automatic restart yourself)

• Ley my device restart later

After deferral days if the restart is not completed the workstation will be restarted during inactive hours (10PM to 6AM). This will give greater control to the user when it comes to saving documents and restarting on a flex able schedule.
